The Daily Bolster: Building a Collaborative Team

August 22, 2024

At Bolster, we partner with you to hire the right executive talent for your team—but we also know building a united team takes work beyond the hiring process.

Today, we’re sharing valuable advice from guests on The Daily Bolster podcast to help you foster a strong leadership team and a collaborative culture.

Build the organizational culture together

If you want to create a collaborative team, it’s important to start from the foundation. Developing company values, expectations, and goals should be a joint project for your leadership team.

Hire leaders you trust

Mutual trust is a key component of successful collaboration. When you hire talented executives and build trust amongst company leadership, you open the door for the team to become stronger than any individual contributor.

Set cross-functional teams up for success

Organizations with a collaborative culture don’t just focus on hierarchical structure. Paying attention and dedicating resources to your cross-functional processes and structure will help you set collaborators up for success.

Keep everyone involved

It’s easy to say you want a culture of collaboration, but words aren’t helpful without a plan of action. When you get everyone involved with the business as a whole, they become more invested and connected with one another. There are plenty of ways to do this; at Bolster, our all-hands meeting is hosted by a different employee each week, which helps us stay connected across teams.
